The 6th annual Tallgrass Film Festival, October 23-26, features more than 100 of the best independent films from around the world, including 25 feature films, and parties with some of the actors and filmmakers. The Opening Night Gala will feature a work in progress screening of the documentary WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH KANSAS?, based on the best-selling novel by Thomas Frank. Closing Night features the Midwest premier of THE DEAL, starring William H. Macy, Meg Ryan, LL Cool J and Jason Ritter, followed by a party at the Ulrich Museum. Jason Ritter and the the film's producers will be in attendance. More than 15 visiting filmmakers will attend the 2008 Tallgrass Film Festival from all over the country to present their films to Wichita audiences and attend VIP events like the Mayor's Welcome to Wichita BBQ and the Dean & DeLuca Filmmaker Lounge at City Arts.
